19th Annual Mesquite Amateur Golf Tournament

Features Largest Field of Competitors Ever

For the 19th time, Mesquite, Nevada is hosting the second largest handicapped amateur golf tournament in the nation. The Mesquite Amateur is a 54-hole, net stroke play tournament that allows competitors to play three rounds of tournament golf on six of Mesquite’s most scenic and award-winning courses.

This year’s field features the largest number of entrants yet. The tournament will consist of five divisions with participants competing against players with a similar handicap, calculated using their 12-month low Handicap Index. Finalist rankings will be determined by comparing the three-day cumulative score and the top four participants from each flight will compete in the 18-hole championship round at the CasaBlanca Golf Club on the final day.

Once again, a deserving Virgin Valley High School senior will learn they are the recipient of the Bruce King Memorial Scholarship.  Since 2013, Mesquite Gaming and the Bruce King Memorial Board have been rewarding one Virgin Valley High School senior in memory of King, who participated in the first 10 years of the Mesquite Amateur before passing of cancer in 2012. The Board is made up of Mesquite Amateur participants who played alongside King and wish to carry out his passion of education.
